A couple in the UK has been dating for 43 years. The man proposes marriages once a year, but has been rejected. Until last year, the woman suddenly proposed to him. The two finally ended their love run for nearly half a century on Valentine’s Day this year.
Colin Jones, 74, said he met Pauline Young, who was 2 years younger than himself, in 1976. Both had a failed marriage and each had a child with a former partner. They met while attending a child’s parent-child class and ended up walking together for more than 40 years. Jones emphasized: “When we see each other, we fall in love.”
Jones told the British Mirror that the two started running a cabinet production company in Wales in the early years and moved to Gozo, Malta, to run a homestay 14 years ago. Although he proposes to each other once a year, for 43 years, he gets disappointed answers every time.
However, in December last year, Yang actually changed his position and proposed to Jones. Jones agreed, of course. He recalled: “When Yang asked me (propose), I almost fell off the bed. I have always been proposing, Now that she proposed to me, I naturally said, “Of course I can.”
However, the relationship between the two was not always smooth. Yang suffered from neurological diseases 3 years ago, which made her move slowly and tremor from time to time. Jones currently can only continue to run the homestay and visit her at the nursing home every two weeks. Young proposed to him when Jones went to visit her last December.
The two held a non-legal ceremony in the church on Valentine’s Day this year. Jones said, “I had given up my hope of getting married. I thought it would never happen again. I was very mixed, very surprised but worried, but We’ve all been through it … the ceremony is full of blessings, and for us it’s already a marriage and a manifestation of love. “
